Leadwork and Flashing
Lead is the gold standard for roof junctions, valleys, and chimneys. Martin Roofing delivers fully supported leadwork designed to handle thermal movement without cracking.
When You Need Leadwork and Flashing
Water leaking around your chimney breast during heavy rain. Lead flashing pulling away from brickwork or sliding out of mortar joints. Splits, cracks, or white corrosion crust appearing on old lead valleys. Staining on interior walls adjacent to roof valleys or dormer windows.
How We Do It
Inspect the junction points and remove deteriorated mortar and old lead flashings. Cut and shape code-compliant milled lead to exact architectural dimensions. Dress the lead into stepped chases and secure with lead plugs and silicone sealant. Point mortar joints neatly and check drainage flow across valleys.
What to Expect
Most lead flashing replacements or valley repairs are completed in 1 to 2 days.
